For the Love of Saturday. And Water.

Photo Hunters

Can you believe it’s finally the weekend?  My, what a long, pollinated week it has been.  And once again on a Friday evening, I’m full up to my eyeballs from eating chips, salsa, and fajitas with GR, Phoo, and Big H.  We even had ice cream afterwards.  That we ate in the the car whilst complaining about the aches, pains, and lack of romance in our lives.  There’s nothing quite like commiserating about life over a double-chocolate chunk cone.

Anyhow, today is Saturday Photo Hunters day, and this week’s theme?  Is Water.  Better than Empty, right?  Actually, water sounds kind of good to me right now, because ice cream sometimes makes me thirsty, y’all.  So, here’s the first picture…

GR in Aruba

This photo was taken on our last day in Aruba during our vacation there in 2001.   That’s GR in the water.  Actually, this is one of GR’s most favorite photos, and it pretty much sums up our entire trip to that beautiful island.  Aruba is truly a paradise.  The water is the most striking shade of turquoise that I’ve even seen.

This next photo was taken at the beach in front of the hotel where we stayed–the Radisson Aruba

Aruba beach

And this photo was taken on the northeast coast of the island where the water is pretty treacherous.  Didn’t do any swimming here…

Aruba east

We’re hoping to return to the island one day when we stop coming up with ideas to sink money into the old homestead.  Guess you can’t do both, right?

Oh wow, that first photo almost looks surreal. LOVE his open arms as if he’s embracing the ocean.

And the last one … I love to watch crashing waves. Nature at its best.

Enjoy the weekend!
