Ah, Paris. What a sweet, romantic, delicious city. A city in which you can revel in hot buttery croissants, irresistible cheeses, luscious chocolates, and divine pastries. A city in which you can indulge in all of that glorious decadence and never gain an ounce. Seriously, y’all! (Hmm…saying “y’all” and talking about Paris in the same post just somehow doesn’t seem right.)
But seriously, y’all. There are so many steps in Paris, that you could eat your way through a boulangerie and burn it all off just by climbing the 1665 steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Or the 300-some-odd steps up to the summit of butte Montmarte (the highest point in the city) to visit Sacre Coeur.
But because I didn’t eat my way through a boulangerie, or a patisserie, or even a fromagerie for that matter, I didn’t climb the 300-some-odd steps up to the summit of Montmarte. I took the funicular instead. However, I did have my picture taken at the top of the steps…
And here’s another picture of more steps leading up to Sacre Coeur…
And just to give you an idea of how grand Sacre Coeur is, the following is a picture that I took from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Sacre Coeur stands majestically in the background. And, no, I did not climb the 1665 steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower…
Bon jour et bon apetit!

What a great group of steps and great photos to go along with the stories of them! I’ve never been to Paris but it looks lovely.
Zut alors, that’s a lot of steps! Those are great shots of Sacre Coeur, bon job. Paris is such a belle city! Happy Hunting!
I never climbed them up either, too lazy ! I have been so many times to Paris that I almost forgot about it. I can offer you also more than 100 steps to the Lion of Waterloo (where I live)
very pretty. I would love to visit there someday
Nice photos. Also, you may think it a bit weird but I like the “For the love of travel” label you thought up. Wish I had thought of it rather than the uninspired “places” I have as the equivalent over on my blog! ;S

Steps to enjoy J.CO Donuts. It’s the best donuts here, MUCH better than Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme. I don’t own any of their outlet, neither my friends and relatives, so just trust me My favorite are Cheese Me U…
No, I would not be doing the steps of the tower either… after one trip up and back down I would probably need a bilateral knee replacement!
Awesome picture..I would love to visit
Dont forget Amys Random THoughts has a blogging scavenger hunt starting May 1st. Details and prizes were just announced..The more who participate the more fun we will have. Dont you want to join?

Lovely selection of steps from Paris.
My humans were in Paris last fall for a 20K race and they loved the city.
Great photos!
Beautiful pics Lulu! I always wanted to go to Sacre Coeur while we were in Paris – specifically because of the amazing view of the cathedral from the Eiffel Tower… Sadly, we never made it all the way there (maybe it was the steps that put us off… I can’t remember).
They are all beautiful photos. Happy weekend.
Look who’s talking about actually going out on the world to look for the pictures. Maybe one day I’ll visit Paris, but for now thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
Lots of steps you took before taking that majestic view I bet!
Lovely!
I visited Paris with my sister in 1994. We were at the Sacre Coeur as well, and we also rode the funicular! Thanks for bringing back some special memories.
A beautiful city! With a LOT of steps!
hey girl, just finished getting mostly caught up with your blog. I enjoyed every moment of the last three weeks. I missed soooo much! Thank goodness for archives!
These are great photos. And you have saved me from purchasing the book about why French women get fat. Between your story and my Daughter S’s assessment of the book, I can tell you right now … they got it wrong in the book.
So glad you are really enjoying blogging.
Talk to you later!

Great shots!
The day spent in Montmarte was one of my favorite of Paris. Probably because in February it was a 70 degree day. Just beautiful. Hmm, have to go find that picture of me sitting on those steps.
Nice post
Well now that simply is just too many steps! But what a huge church on the hill; that is so impressive!
Fabulous photos! I’ve never been to Paris but it’s one of my dream destinations. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful photos! Looks like you had a great time, even if you didn’t climb all those stairs
