So, I was reviewing some of my previous posts and realized that I have not participated in the Saturday Photo Hunt since July 21! Two long months ago! The shame of it all. I should be flogged with a camera strap.
And of course the day that I decide to start again, I’m challenged with a theme that’s kind of difficult to get creative with—Paper. But I’ll try. And I’ll just keep going with my London/Paris theme that I can’t seem to get away from…
This is a photo of my little traveling gnome (who I first introduced here) posing with a paper brochure of The Dial House Hotel. My Aunt Patty Cake and I stopped for lunch there while visiting the quaint Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water (England) in 2006.
Here’s a picture of the pumpkin soup that I ordered, which was served on a paper doily. I felt all fancy-pants.
And here’s the view from our table (no paper here; just the view)…
And here’s a picture of the Dial House Hotel…
If you ever find yourself traveling through the Cotswolds of England, be sure to stop by the town of Bourton-on-the-Water. The town is truly something out of a storybook, and the food at The Dial House is amazing. In addition to the pumpkin soup, I highly recommend trying the bread pudding.
I’m thinking of renting a room there for the rest of my life. Sigh.

Sounds like a wonderful place and great photos. Have a good weekend.
love your choices for the theme! living in the countryside is a breather indeed.
Wow - truly sounds (and looks) like a wonderful place.
Happy Weekend.
Those are lovely photographs for the paper theme.
Dear LuLu,
Those photos bring back some “wonderful” memories—they are like a breath of fresh air. The countryside was beautiful and perfect weather on that day. Glad we were there.
what a wonderful place to visit. I always think I’d love to visit England, and this just re-enforces that idea.
My photohunt is also up
Gosh…I’m drooling all over that bowl of soup. What soup should I cook for dinner tomorrow? Western? Oriental? Fusion? You tell me and I freeze a bowl for you…haha. Nice shots this week.
Great choice of photos! Mine is up too. Hope you can visit me! Have a great weekend!
Hi Lulu. Welcome back. Thanks for sharing these interesting and lovely photos.
I love pumpkin soup. I like how it was served on that fancy paper doily.
The Dial House seems like a nice place to visit. Thanks for visiting. Take care!
Very pretty pictures and some nice paper in there as well. Looks like a beautiful place to be.
Ok, I’m losing my mind. I typed out a comment to this… but I must have switched windows, because it isn’t up there, and I’ve been all over the place. (I have dial up and some pages load faster than others… so I open about 4-7 sites in different tabs and bee-bop between them… seems I wandered off, then hit refresh on this page and whoosh went my post…
Never as good recreated as first created… so I’m just going to be brief (hahahahaha) What is it that is northeast of the bowl of pumpkin soup. I’m starving and I just need to know….
Ummm… oh yeah… great place to vacation - sounds like a perfect place to get away to… hmmm let’s see, what else did I say… Oh, I LOVE your little travelling buddy!
And most importantly of all - the bread pudding - was that custardy or melt-in-your-mouthy? If you live near an Elephant & Castle Inn - their bread pudding will make you pass out in heavenly mouth meltingness…
I’m on a diet… can you tell? I’m starving! I need to go drink a glass of water… oh YIPPEE! Hmmm, I wonder if I wrote my comment in someone else’s blog’s popup window - hahaha Anything’s possible!
what a beautiful looking place to visit! Loved the gnome with the menu! My photo is up, please come and visit
Wow such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing with us.
Lovely photos!
That looks like a great place to eat. Lovely!
Oh, the Cotswolds! I’ve always wanted to go to the Cotswolds. Sigh. If you need me, I’ll be sitting over here sulking and being jealous. Double sigh.
Great photos, Lulu. Amazing what you could do with the theme. Wait until cardboard comes along!
Pretty doily under your bowl of pumpking soup. I don’t think I have seen that one used on any of the other photo hunters’ entries this week.
Come see mine.
pumpkin soup, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (drooling like homer simpson)
