OMG! LOL! What kind of dog do you have? How long did it take for the pup to eat the bed? It would have taken my mom’s dog .5 seconds.

Also… vet story. My mom has taken each of her dogs to the vet at least 2 times (each) to have porcipine quils taken out. They just don’t learn… God love em.

If it wasn’t fluff….what was it? Is Bindi OK? (and dare I ask about the bed….?)

Kelly - she’s a 3-month old Jack Russell Terrier. That probably explains a lot.

I’ve seen a picture of a dog who got into a tussle with a porcupine. Not a pretty site! Looks pretty darn painful!

Lauren - well, the thing is, she ripped into her pillow when she was in her crate, and when we saw what had happened, we *thought* that there was a lot of fluff missing. She was also acting kind of lethargic.

My other JRT, Abby, died of an obstruction that we didn’t know about until it was too late, so I wasn’t taking any chances this time! Thankfully, the x-ray did not show any “fluff”…only poop. And she did her business as normal this morning, so all is (hopefully) good.

The pillow is now in the garbage. Know of any JRT-proof pillows?

OMG! I meant to tell you but the other night Gretchen woke us up hacking & carrying on and the only thing I could think about was Abby, all the thoughts of what happened to her ran threw my head! Gretchen loves to chew on her bedding too, we finally took out the fuzzy part of her bedding out so now there is no more hacking going on. So much like babies are they!

Glad to hear all is well.

Kaya loves to pull out the “fluff”. So much so that we get her old stuffed animals from Goodwill for her to tear up. Thank God she just pulls out the “fluff” and tosses it to the side while she digs for more inside the poor Goodwill animal.

Thank goodness Princess Bindi is OK. Jack also loves to eat the fluff from his toys. He was pooping white fluff for a week after killing is favorite lion. We had to dispose of it..then he attacked his lady bug. Finally I just pulled out all the fluff and gave him the toy back. My friends dog died of an obstruction too…. it was pantyhose! They just eat anything. Crazy puppies!

Phoo - do you have to buy Kaya monster-size stuffed toys? I would think that she would swallow a small one whole!

MP - the vet told me that she’s never seen a case where the fluff has caused an obstruction, but I’m guessing that there’s always a first. It just kind of freaked me out…

i’m glad to hear bindi is okay now. i would have totally freaked out as well! we’re a family of dog lovers too and we’ve got tons of them (rotts, beagles, chows and a retriever) but hubby is dying to add a jack russell too :-P and yes, it doesn’t matter what breed they are, they eat absolutely anything!

Pugly loves fluff himself. Especially if it’s duck chew toy fluff. We’ve gone through quite a few.

LL - My parents have a Bichon, Molly, if you recall. She was ill for the first few weeks with worms and they went back and forth to the vet, moaning, “Our little baby, poor Molly.” Well, good news that the dog is fine now and now they are saying, “She’s chewing up my shoelaces, that little squirt is chewing everything!” (sanitized version)…then “Tell us again why we got a puppy?”

So I guess you could look at it that Bindi is at least behaving normally.

Glad she is better.

Throw your socks in the wash!
