View #1: It is better to buy 1 million bottles of water than it is to buy 1 million CDs.
View #2: It is better to buy butter than it is to buy guns.
View #3: The opportunity cost of studying 280 hours for an economics test is neglecting my blog for over a week. Or is that the other way around?
View #4: If I don’t write a post for a week, the demand for a post is higher than if I write a post every day. Or not.
Let’s face it, y’all. Lulu is not an economist. Nor does she want to become one. When I signed up for this Macroeconomics course, I had no idea that I would be faced with graphs, charts, calculations, slope lines…and complete and utter boredom. Sigh.
So, instead of boring you with any more of my muddled viewpoints, let’s just move along, people. I would much rather bore you with the highlights of last week…
Monday: Thanks to an invite from Sophie, I attended a Yahoo! event at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead to launch their new women’s blogging/news/entertainment/etc. Web site—Shine. You can go here to read about the new site, because I just don’t have the time to tell you about all of the wonderful features and people involved. But I do have time to show you all of the wonderful swag that I scored at the event (which includes some fabulous MAC cosmetics!):
But just one question…how do you wear these colors without looking like you’ve been punched in the eye?
Tuesday: I bought myself a birthday present. And let’s just forget for the moment that my birthday is seven months away. I’ve had this little jewel on my mind for quite a while now, and finally decided to break the bank:
Now, if I can only figure out how to use the darn thing. To be honest with you, I’m afraid to touch it. Perhaps I’ll just keep it stored in the box and take it out from time to time to lick it.
Wednesday: The adorable Mrs. W over at Mrs. W’s Kitchen awarded me with the You Make My Day award! Aww. Thank you, Mrs. W! You always make my day with your delicious recipes, advice on where to eat in Atlanta (and NY), and your love of the Waffle House!
Friday: I took the day off to go with the ailing GR (he’s sick—mind, body, and spirit), his niece and nephew, sister, and parents to visit the World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta. I had a fabulous time, especially since we ate at The Varsity afterwards! On the other hand, GR was a big bundle of sickness and family stress as you can see from this display here:
Why I subject myself to going places with him is beyond me.
And finally, I’m going to leave you with a couple of pictures that I took in downtown Atlanta of the lingering tornado damage of a few weeks past. Many of the windows are still boarded up…
Until next time…

Hey stranger. And I mean that in a ‘haven’t heard from ya in a while’ not a ‘your odd’ kind of way.
Economics, huh. All I know about economics is that it easier to spend than to earn. Ya. I’m deep. And broke.

you’re not your. Uh.

Lulu – I’m so glad you’re back! I’m out of the habit of checking your blog since I’m not sitting bored at work! Tee hee! (I know, this can only last so long!) Loved seeing you over the weekend – though I felt like I never got to talk to you! And I forgot to give you your gift from St. John…I’m telling you, Thai food and presents!
Yay! I missed you!
My view is this: MACroeconomics is NOT better that MACaroni and Cheese.
I’m SO jealous of you camera my face just turned green. For real. Maybe that eye shadow will work for me? As for how to use it? Carmindy and Damone talk a lot about “the CREASE” and “Windshield wiper” motions. Whatever that means.
And back to the camera…I walk by the floor model at Tar-jay and sigh…and lick it if they’re not looking. Then I go to the tooth cleanliness aisle and open a bottle of mouth wash and chug it.

Thanks for the update! And, for the record, I think your economics outlooks rock.
Then again, I may have barely passed my econ classes. I can’t recall; I blocked them out of my mind.

Missed you!!
I checked out that Shine earlier this week..it’s pretty cool. Yeah..those colors would either make you look like you have a black eye..OR like a hooker. I don’t know..maybe not with the right amount of contrast colors..
YEAH for the camera..VERY VERY cool!!
PS..The Atlanta airport ROCKS..I think I’ll have to go back, just for the chance to have Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips..

Oh, ugh. Economics. I’m sorry you have to suffer through that. But I see that you’re learning a lot.
Never took economics. One of the benefits of being an English major, I guess.
I’m so jealous of your swag. I was invited to that event, too, but couldn’t go. darn it.

Um, I wouldn’t look like I had a black eye with those MAC colors….what do I have that you might want in exchange for those two eyeshadows? I’m totally willing to bribe you. LOL
Great camera too. And this is the first time I’ve been to your blog. LOVE the title, layout, bubbles, everything! I’m off to read other posts!

Salena – thank you so much for your compliments!
Do you seriously want the eye shadows? I would totally send them to you!
I LOVE my camera! It’s so wonderful, but kind of a pain because you can’t just slip it into your purse.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

An old fleece blanket can be used as a vehicle blanket. Maintain the previous fleece blanket in your particular car and if a disastrous situation arises where of course you’ll need it you can use it. Hopefully you won’t have need of that fleece blanket and it’ll just take up space in your car.
