I grew up in Louisiana and I can remember Charles' Chips being sold at some of the local stores. I don't remember them being in tins though. They were always in bags, but I don't think the tin containers are a yankee thing only.

You had me at cream cheese. Although that statement, from me, would have come for the Wheat Thins can. I LOVE me some Wheat Thins with a smear of cream cheese. YUM.

And that marshmallow tin is awesome. I might have to find one of those!

I had a similar Thursday Thirteen disappointment.

I also have a collection of tins. Mine aren't as coordinated. A lot of them seem to be alcohol-oriented, which is because one of my best friends used to be the supervisor for the wine department of a grocery store and they never put the tins on the shelves. The weird thing is that she didn't drink for personal reasons and I can't drink for medical reasons, but for some reason with the tins and of course the boxes whenever we moved, we looked like the biggest alcoholics ever.

Dear LuLu,

Enjoyed your "Showcase of Tins" collection.... Remember when I used to collect tins, and did I give you the pretty Candy tin? I know that I have given you one.
Again, glad you're back, and tell Gus hello for me.
                                                  LOVE AND HUGS
P.S. A LuLu t-shirt would be cute.

Angie - I was so very careful to not capture in my pictures the dust that lines the top of kitchen cabinets. I'm surprised that I'm still breathing.

Christie - seriously? I talk to Gus at least 3 times a day. I drive the poor boy nuts, I know, but this mama has to keep up with her son no matter how old he is!!
