<p>Gosh, it&#8217;s been like forever and a day since I&#8217;ve done a Saturday <a rel="tag" href="http://tnchick.com" target="blank">Photo Hunt</a>.  Yet, here I am, all caught up in it again.  For those of you who don&#8217;t know what the Saturday Photo Hunt is, just go <a href="http://tnchick.com/pshunt">here</a>.  TN Chick will explain.  Basically, you post a picture each Saturday related to a theme that TN Chick picks.  Easy-peasy.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s theme is <strong>spiral</strong>.  Not so easy-peasy.  At first, I thought about posting a picture of myself with a spiral perm…but then I thought better.  I&#8217;ve already taken you on <a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/2007/09/10/the-blond-ambition-tour/">Lulu&#8217;s journey of bad hair</a> once before.  There is no need to subject you to that again.  It ain&#8217;t pretty, and I do not want to relive it.  Hence, my post involves the &#8220;somewhat&#8221; of a <strong>spiraling </strong>staircase that GR and I climbed at Amicalola Falls this past fall.</p>
<p>It all starts here…at the beginning of the beautiful Appalachian Trail.</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/applachian-trail.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3400" title="applachian trail" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/applachian-trail.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a> </p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/lulu-at-trail.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3403" title="lulu at trail" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/lulu-at-trail.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a></p>
<p>After a short trek on the trail, you end up here&#8212;at this warning sign.</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/GR-smoking.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3402" title="GR smoking" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/GR-smoking.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a> </p>
<p>And then, much like my husband the health nut, you must fill your lungs with tobacco smoke and toxins to help with the strenuous walk up the 425 <strong>spiraling</strong> stairs…</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/spiral-stairs.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3404" title="spiral stairs" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/spiral-stairs.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a> </p>
<p>And once you&#8217;ve hacked and coughed your way up the stairs…</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/GR-climbing.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3401" title="GR climbing" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/GR-climbing.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a> </p>
<p>You can take in these glorious views…</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/view1.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3405" title="view1" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/view1.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/view2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3406" title="view2" src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/view2.jpg" alt="" width="473" height="331" /></a> </p>
<p>I can&#8217;t wait to go back in the spring!  Have a great Saturday, y&#8217;all!</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Side note:</strong>  For those of you who truly, madly, deeply care about Lulu and have discovered that some of my past posts no longer show pictures, please note that I am still working on uploading those lost photos.  It&#8217;s a tragedy on a grand scale, but I am determined to win the battle.  Thank you.</p></blockquote>

<p>So, I was reviewing some of my previous posts and realized that I have not participated in the <a target="_blank" href="http://tnchick.com/pshunt/">Saturday Photo Hunt</a> since <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/2007/07/21/for-the-love-of-saturday-and-something-tiny/">July 21</a>!<span>  </span>Two long months ago!<span>  </span>The shame of it all.<span>  </span>I should be flogged with a camera strap.<span>  </span></p>
<p><span></span>And of course the day that I decide to start again, I’m challenged with a theme that’s kind of difficult to get creative with&#8212;<strong>Paper</strong>.<span>  </span>But I’ll try.<span>  And </span>I&#8217;ll just keep going with my London/Paris theme that I can’t seem to get away from…<span>  </span></p>
<p><span></span>This is a photo of my little traveling gnome (who I first introduced <a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/2007/03/17/for-the-love-of-saturday-and-a-st-patricks-day-drink/">here</a>) posing with a <strong>paper</strong> brochure of <a href="http://www.dialhousehotel.com/html/index.php">The Dial House Hotel</a>.<span>  </span>My Aunt Patty Cake and I stopped for lunch there while visiting the quaint Cotswold village of <a href="http://www.bourtoninfo.com/">Bourton-on-the-Water</a> (England) in 2006.<span>  </span></p>
<p><span><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_213.jpg" title="Dial House Hotel brochure"><img src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_213.jpg" alt="Dial House Hotel brochure" /></a></span></p>
<p><span></span>Here’s a picture of the pumpkin soup that I ordered, which was served on a <strong>paper</strong> doily.<span>  I felt all fancy-pants. </span><span> </span></p>
<p><span><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_210.jpg" title="Soup"><img src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_210.jpg" alt="Soup" /></a></span></p>
<p>And here’s the view from our table (no <strong>paper </strong>here; just the view)&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_209.jpg" title="View from Dial House"><img src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_209.jpg" alt="View from Dial House" /></a></p>
<p>And here’s a picture of the Dial House Hotel…</p>
<p><a href="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_208.jpg" title="Dial House Hotel"><img src="http://luluslaundryblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/london_208.jpg" alt="Dial House Hotel" /></a></p>
<p>If you ever find yourself traveling through the Cotswolds of England, be sure to stop by the town of <a href="http://www.bourtoninfo.com/">Bourton-on-the-Water</a>.<span>  </span>The town is truly something out of a storybook, and the food at The Dial House is amazing.<span>  </span>In addition to the pumpkin soup, I highly recommend trying the bread pudding.<span>  </span></p>
<p><span></span>I’m thinking of renting a room there for the rest of my life.  Sigh.</p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">For now just enjoy my interpretation of today&#8217;s theme&#8212;<strong>Tiny</strong>.  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">If you look <em>reeeeaally </em>close, you can see my <strong>tiny</strong>, friendly traveling companion standing on a barrier outside of Notre Dame.  No, it&#8217;s not the pigeon, y&#8217;all.  My traveling companion is actually a traveling gnome (he&#8217;s the one in the red hat).  And if you missed his formal introduction, you can <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/2007/03/17/for-the-love-of-saturday-and-a-st-patricks-day-drink/">click here</a> to read about him.  Oh, and I must warn you&#8212;it&#8217;s exciting stuff.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And here he is schmoozin&#8217; with the locals in a little town in England called <a target="_blank" href="http://www.bourtoninfo.com/">Bourton-on-the-Water</a>&#8230;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And here he is ready to do the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FUxUiMyt70">Triple Lindy</a> off the Eiffel Tower&#8230;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"></span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Today is <a target="_blank" href="http://tnchick.com/pshunt/">Saturday Photo Hunters</a> day, and the theme is <strong>shadow</strong>.  And really, the first thought that came to mind when I read the theme is of my little Jack Russell Terrier, Abby, who <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/2007/04/25/all-dogs-go-to-heaven/">passed away suddenly in April</a>.  She was most definitely my little <strong>shadow</strong>.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Here&#8217;s Abby when I first met her.  And I swear I&#8217;m not trying to choke her!  Just looks that way&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/lulu-and-abby.jpg" title="Abby and Lulu"><img src="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/lulu-and-abby.jpg" alt="Abby and Lulu" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And here she is meeting our bassett hound, Billy Ray, for the first time.  He loved her so much that she could jump and climb all over him.  And most importantly&#8212;chew on his looooong ears&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/billy-and-abby.jpg" title="Abby and Billy Ray"><img src="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/billy-and-abby.jpg" alt="Abby and Billy Ray" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Here she is running like a little demon around the coffee table.  This behavior continued to occur every evening around 7pm when she would chase Billy Ray&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/abby_in_motion.jpg" title="Abby in motion"><img src="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/abby_in_motion.jpg" alt="Abby in motion" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Here she is a little bit older standing on my writing desk.  I swear, she was like a billy goat.  She could climb up or on anything!</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And here&#8217;s one of the last pictures that I took of her.  I made her wear her St. Patrick&#8217;s Day bandana.  C&#8217;mon&#8230;she was Irish!  And she did not like it at all&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/st-abby.jpg" title="St. Patrick’s Day Abby"><img src="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/st-abby.jpg" alt="St. Patrick’s Day Abby" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">It&#8217;s funny how heartbreaking it is to lose a pet.  But they become such an intricate part of your everyday life, and when they&#8217;re gone, they take a big chunk of your heart with them.  Abby certainly did that to me.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">So, after we made our way down from the top of the Eiffel Tower, we visited the <em>Carrousel Gourmand</em> where they sold <strong>sweets</strong> such as crepes, glacer la crème, and cotton candy&#8230;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/06/london_153.jpg" title="Carrousel Gourmand"><img src="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/files/2007/06/london_153.jpg" alt="Carrousel Gourmand" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And because we were in Paris and just couldn&#8217;t pass up the fun, we had some <strong>sweet</strong>, pink cotton candy&#8230;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">And took a ride on the <strong>sweet</strong> carousel&#8230;</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">It&#8217;s finally Saturday, and I&#8217;m busy with my neighborhood garage sale.  And I decided not to throw everything on the lawn for the taking in a fit of unpreparedness <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/2007/05/16/thirteen-reasons-why-lulu-needs-a-blogging-break/">as I had previously thought</a>.  Instead, I was able to gather and price everything throughout the week in a fairly organized manner.  Because <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/2007/03/22/i-love-a-parade/">I am a coordinator</a>, ya know?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Of course, GR was doing his best at trying to convince me to price everything in the house.  Including the curtains on the windows.  LET&#8217;S JUST SELL EVERYTHING, he said.  When we move to our double-wide in the neighboring county, we won&#8217;t need all this stuff.  Just a few packs of ciggies, some cheap beer, and the love between us.  Y&#8217;all, I have the most romantic husband in the world.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Anyhow, today is <a target="_blank" href="http://tnchick.com/pshunt/">Saturday Photo Hunters Day</a>, and the theme is <strong>Cooking</strong>.  Which I don&#8217;t do much of.  And when I do <strong>cook</strong>, it normally turns into something like this:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-41" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/2007/02/21/hey-ma-can-we-get-some-meatloaf/meatloaf3jpg/" title="meatloaf3.jpg"><img src="http://luluslaundry.files.wordpress.com/2007/02/meatloaf3.jpg" alt="meatloaf3.jpg" /></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">A concoction of worms and meat, you ask?  Oh no, it&#8217;s a meatloaf.  And if you would like to read the story about this meatloaf, <a target="_blank" href="http://luluslaundry.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&amp;post=38">click here</a>.  Don&#8217;t worry.  I won&#8217;t hold it against you if you don&#8217;t.  This is pretty much a recycled post, but isn&#8217;t meatloaf better the next day?  Or in this case, the next month or so?  Give it a try it and let me know.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;">Happy Saturday, y&#8217;all!  </span></p>
